“Women’s Night,” an evening of female-fronted acts. Featuring the Cara Cantarella Band with special guest Lara Ruggles. This Friday May 7th, 8 – 1:30 am, at Ziggies home of live music, 38th & Sheridan in north Denver. Lara opens at 8, and the Cara Cantarella Band follows from 9:30 – 1:30. Cara’s originals are mainly pop/rock, but the band plays an eclectic mix of covers and has serious blues roots. Bass player Clarence Johnsen plays with the Mama Raven Band, a Ziggies staple for blues-r&b-jazz, and drummer Jana Johns fronts the driving blues band Sugarhouse. Together with backing vocalist Cindy Cable, they make a powerful foursome with soaring harmonies and funky grooves!
